Do you remember donning a lab coat and glasses for the first time? Attending Siemens Summer School? Experiments going awry? The thrill of seeing the mysterious microscopic world? Mastering the safe use of a Bunsen burner (with asbestos mat) and chemicals?
We acknowledge our wonderful Science teachers and Lab Technicians who have enlarged students’ understanding of the world around them. Thousands of practical activities building on students’ innate curiosity. Years of examination, field trips, competitions, dissection, investigations, collecting and analysing data expanding knowledge over the years to foster future scientists, builders, engineers and inventors.
A special mention should be made of Mr Allen who, for 33+ years at Berwick College, (pictured – 50 Years’ Service Award) served in a variety of teaching and leadership roles including supporting the Science Domain until his retirement in 2015.
