Year 7 Enrolments 2023
Expression of interest in our Elite programs 2023:
Expressions of interest for our Basketball Academy (BA), Dance Academy (BCDA) and High Achievers’ Program (HAP) are now open to all families of students, who will put Berwick College as the first preference on the Application for Year 7 Placement 2023 forms that you will receive from your Primary School at the beginning of Term 2, 2022.
You are not eligible to apply for our elite programs if you do not choose Berwick College as your first preference. Expressions of interest will close Friday 20th May.
There is a $75 fee required to sit the HAP exam which will open on QKR! on Wednesday 22nd June and close on Friday 15th July. No late fees will be accepted.
Please be aware that if unsuccessful in your elite programs application and we have received your DET Year 6 to Year 7 transition form, we will offer you a place within our core classes. Through the DET placement policy you are applying to the school and not the specific program.
Please complete the expression of interest form and then email the last 2 school reports and any other certificates/dance principal or coach recommendations to support your child’s application to enrolments@berwickcollege.vic.edu.au

Year 6 to Year 7 Transition
Moving from Year 6 into Year 7 is a very exciting time for students and their families. At Berwick College, we follow the Department of Education and Training statewide transition program. Most of the transition for Year 6 to 7 in 2023 is handled by your primary school. They will distribute a “Year 6 into 7 Transition Information Pack” to families early in Term 2 or you can download the ‘Placement Information Pack’ (available Week 1, Term 2, 2022). This process involves you nominating the secondary school you would like your child to attend. Completed application forms are then returned to your child’s primary school.
All communication about your child’s placement must be with the Year 6 Coordinator or Transition Coordinator at your child’s primary school until the placement is confirmed.
Year 7 placement is decided by secondary schools. You will receive notification of your child’s year 7 placement, from your primary school on Wednesday 20th July.
By holding a year 7 information night in early Term two and numerous tours in both Terms one and Term two (conducted by our assistant principals), we hope families will be as informed as possible about our college and what we can offer for every student. We also have a virtual tour available to view at any time on our website.
The dates and information below are subject to change and we encourage families to regularly check our website and Facebook page for the most up to date information.
Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria.
Students residing within our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address.
Our school manages enrolments using the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and may enrol at another school, if there are available places.
